Nickel Alloy 601 bar, rod, and wire is a nickel-chromium with an addition of aluminum that provides high mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, as well as superior resistance to oxidation, carburization, and sulfurization. It excels particularly in descaling resistance in cyclic oxidation applications with a high temperature variation.

Applications:
Corrosion Resistance
The high nickel content of Nickel Alloy 601 provides good resistance to moderate levels of reducing conditions. The nickel content renders the alloy extremely resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking. Similarly, the chromium content provides resistance to weak oxidizing environments. Nickel Alloy 601 is relatively unaffected by the majority of neutral and alkaline solutions.
